what matters is the light in your eyes.  

its so easy to get caught up in the chaos of everyday life.  little things stacking on top of each other creating what seems to be the world falling apart before your eyes.  but what matters is the light in your eyes.  the thing that keeps you going when everything else seems to be breaking.  whether it be a person, a place, a dream, a wish.  that has made all the difference for me.  keeping that perspective handy and always following the light.

i always think about what it means to wear eyeglasses.  when you get used to glasses you don't know how far you could really see.  i think about all the people before eyeglasses were invented.  it must have been weird because everyone was seeing in different ways according to how bad their eyes were.  now, glasses standardize everyones vision to 20-20.  thats an example of everyone becoming more alike.  but not me.

34 degrees? who cares.

its been so cold here in nyc - i have just given up all hope that spring will arrive.  then i got this amazing mesh dress from style moi and i was like, ya know, i dont even care. IM GONNA WEAR IT.  who cares that it is 34 degrees.   it helped that i had this uh-mazing backpack from nila anthony to store my coat in (but no body needed to know that!)
