i was at a shoot a few weeks ago and the photographer and i were gabbing about our obsession for sunnies. we came to the conclusion that we are not allowed to have expensive eyewear because we always break them! i mean really, no matter HOW careful i am with my sunglasses, they always end up stepped on, sat on, crushed or lost within days. i had almost come to terms with the fact that i will never have a pair of cute and cool sunnies - and then i found sunnndaze. not only do they have the most insane collection of awesome sun glasses, but they are also super affordable, so you can stock UP. i got three pairs, and i have managed to keep them all in tact...so far.

jump from paper

about 2 years ago my friend jarret sent me a link to this site that sold purses that looked like they were nothing but drawings. they did not look real, i mean it was a total trip. he wanted my advice as he was getting it for his sister for her birthday. i could hardly provide adequate feedback as i was literally unable to comprehend how this bag was real. it looked like a bright colored marker drawing drawn on top of the photos! i sat there and wondered how these were real, IF they were real, for hours.

fast forward two years later. i got my first bag from jump from paper, and i can assure you, THEY ARE REAL, AND THEY'RE SPECTACULAR. ( extra points to anyone who gets that reference )

why so serious?

a few weeks ago, someone left me a comment on my instagram saying "you have not smiled in 46 weeks". ordinarily i would write something witty back joking about how you don't smile in modeling photos or how i hate my teeth. but it got me to thinking, why be so serious? a few days after i was shooting for elsie & fred and i was doing my usual poses, keeping my face all serious, and then this persons comment started running around my head and the rest is history. the shoot went from serious to silly in a matter of seconds. i still don't feel comfortable with the way i look when i smile, but at least my count has now gone from 46 weeks to last week.

ena pelly

ena pelly is defined by its vivid aesthetic and bespoke yardage prints. i found them while searching for photos of goddess sahara ray (who just so happens to model for them) and i was instantly in love with their entire line. each piece is so unique and makes you feel like a million bucks. (probably because they are made with satin- yep)

im currently obsessed with combining sophistication with feminity and thats exactly what ena pelly allows you to do. it was a no-brainer to pair my ena pelly skirt with a noe undergarments bra and some accessories. another fave, wearable lingerie, but thats a topic for another time.

a little bit of floral

while i tend to love dressing like a grungy boy - i love being able to add a pop of girliness every now and then. these days i love anything with a floral print, especially these creepers by tuk. they bring just the right amount of life into my black and white wardrobe.

Life Made Me Do It.

its so easy to blame circumstance for where you are in your life. what you have or do not have. i have been acting for 15 years, and i am nowhere near where i thought i would be. it has been a life of constant struggle, disappointment, heartbreaks laced with moments of extreme pride and joy. there is no feeling like getting a job after working hard for it for so long. and that makes it all worth it. they make the struggle sweeter and the successes even better. it has taken me a long time to get to where i am today, and i still get really low, and i still have a hard time with the constant daily rejection, but eventually i stopped looking for the light. i decided to become it instead.

caged

a summer staple for me is a cute bralette. it literally goes with everything and looks amazing on. when i saw this caged bralette from elsie & fred i knew it had to be mine. i had been lusting over anything and everything caged since last summer and i had yet to acquire a piece for my wardrobe. now i am totally hooked! i have a feeling i will be over-wearing this one, for sure!

parental advisory

in the acting world i get told more often than not that i am 'too edgy'. i always have to change my looks for certain auditions and blend in with everyone else. but what fun is that? i love to stand out, and express myself through my clothing, body, hair etc. one of the things i love most about modeling is that i can be who i am, i can be edgy, i can be crazy and i have freedom to be whoever i want to be. so naturally when i got this bag from my favorites, street level, i had to play it up completely.
