heartbeats

a good fluffy jacket is all i ever need to spruce up an outfit.  i pretty much throw it on top of everything.  this one from Gypsy Warrior is super lightweight so i can wear it year round.  i loved pairing it with a basic maxi dress and some killer heels from faryl robin.  xxx

Gov Ball 2016

I was SO excited to go to my first Governors Ball this year. I have always wanted to go so when the opportunity came around this year, i jumped on it!  I packed my little backpack with a polaroid (forgot the batteries so FAIL), a disposable film camera and some snacks (which i finished before i even got there).

Some highlights were The Knocks (and their slew of special guests hello carly rae and wyclef!), Catfish and the Bottlemen, Marian Hill (vocal GOALS!) & Misterwives (her motivational speech at the end of her set hit home hard! wish i could find a transcript of it, but it was along the lines of HA to everyone who said we wouldnt make it, werent good enough, etc etc.)

We were super bummed day 3 was cancelled but we had a total blast while we were there! Can't wait for next year!

whiskey dog

My cousin Emily is the creator of WHISKEYDOG WARES - Handmade clothing consciously built one piece at a time.  I remember a few years ago she sent me the CUTEST pinafore dress she made from fabric she found - and now she is creating a little empire all of her own.  She made me this velvet dress in black and red and my sister and I alternate who gets to play in which color.  Each piece is made with love and you can sure tell.  Its so fun to see women build these amazing businesses and watch them grow from day 1. I loved pairing this dress with my Faryl Robin for FREE PEOPLE boots - the black velvet in the shoe totally added to the look!

the arrivals

the thing about trench coats is - well - IM OBSESSED.  I love ones that hit the floor, but its hard to find since im a shorty.  They either drag on like a wedding train or they hit in a weird short spot that makes me look like a box.  This one from THE ARRIVALS is the perfect length AND has removable sleeves (which you will see now that its warmer) talk about the perfect transition piece!

brunchin' in TOBI

When it starts to feel like spring, all I want to do is WALK all over NYC and eat brunch outdoors.  It was perfect weather last week to do just that.  I slipped on my new dress from TOBI and a little leather jacket just in case (which i really didn't even need yay!) and we walked down to brunch.  It was a nice walk, about a mile - and we took pit stops on the highline and on some adorable side streets in Chelsea.  I discovered a street I don't think I had EVER walked down before, which was awesome, too. We ate at COOKSHOP which was SO good, had always wanted to try it -and i'm so glad we did.  Sitting outside was a nice little plus, too. Where are your fave brunch spots in NYC? Looking to try some new spots all summer long!

members only

these rad pants were part of a collection i picked out for dusty rose vintage.  i always love going there and digging through bins and bins of sick vintage.  you always find such incredible things, only problem is you want IT ALL.  there's also something so satisfying about digging through all of these huge garbage bins filled with clothing, and finding a real gem.  i paired these pants with my new members only varsity jacket, which is totally vintage inspired!
