i have always had a strange obsession with abandoned places. i love to explore them and find hidden treasures and think about what it was like there before it was ultimately left to die. there is something so beautiful about the peeling walls, dirty floors, cracked windows. you can almost see how amazing it once was, but some circumstances emptied it and left it to rot. there are so many of these places around new york city but its getting harder and harder to come by them. i was so lucky to stumble upon this beautiful one while shooting this look. we had no intention of looking, but we stumbled upon this hidden gem and created some elegance in abandonment.
